This is an amazing story of a Clubman built by Brian Forbes in 1967. it was named the ODIN Clubman.
The design was built with diagonal brace theory for strength with all custom-built front suspension arms and engine and gearbox mounts. On completion of the chassis which had no formal chassis design or plans to work from, just rough dimensional drawings and measurements as they proceeded to complete the new chassis. All steering and suspension pick up points and angles were engineered into the chassis.
The chassis was then stamped Chassis # OD – 001 as this was the first of two chassis that were planned to be built
It was very successfully raced between 1969 and 1977 by Brian Forbes until it eventually was sold.
It went on and continued its racing career at circuits such as Amaroo, Rob Roy, Phillip Island, Winton, Lakeside, Oran Park and Mangalore, up until 1984 with numerous owners over that period. However the Forbes family lost contact with the car after 1977.
In 2019 the ODIN Clubman was located 52 years after being built and discovered in many pieces and lots of boxes in a Victorian town in the Dandenong ranges.
It is now undergoing a full restoration back to its 1969 White Livery in the Classics & Collectibles Garage.
